Glasswerk launch brand new clubnight TICK TICK BOOM! On Saturday 17th April at the famous Purple Turtle, bringing together some of London’s most forward thing bands and DJs to give you the soundtrack to a raucous night in the darkest depths of Camden Town.

THIS CITY have been already been described in review as “like The Travelling Wilburys if it was made of members of Bloc Party and At The Drive In”. Maybe if you throw in the eyeball-popping nuances of Blood Brothers, the same turn-on-a-sixpence disco-jerk rhythms of the more danceable end of punk (think Les Savy Fav or !Forward Russia!), the impassioned cacophony of mid 80s Dischord Records-led emotional hardcore, the pop sensibility of tykes such as The Automatic and subtract the reference to Tom Petty and co, we might just be inclined to agree…

The brilliant four piece GLORIA CYCLES, from sunny Brighton, are one of 2010’s most exciting and intriguing bands. They play glorious slices of upbeat indie set to a backdrop of dark tales of torment.

London favourites KARAOKE FOR BEGINNERS, indie-ska-upstarts THE BASKERVILLES; and Them Nudes and the Litt’lans love child THE MEAT AND ONIONS GANG open the night.
