Jah Wobble Invaders Of The Heart

Combining global music, reggae, fusion, and punk influences, Jah Wobble has captivated the world with his hypnotic bass riffs for over four decades, solidifying his place as one of Britain’s most influential and distinct bass players. Accompanied by his band, Invaders of the Heart, Jah Wobble is reborn into a new decade, as defiant as ever, with a brand-new UK tour.

Born John Wardle, the nickname “Jah Wobble” was given to him by Sid Vicious after a night of drunken antics. It was Sid Vicious who also gave Jah his very first bass guitar. As a bassist, Jah Wobble is renowned as one of the founding members—and ultimately the backbone—of the legendary Public Image Limited (PiL) during its early years. While working alongside John Lydon, Keith Levene, and Jim Walker, Jah’s powerful and distinctive low-end bass defined PiL’s debut album, Public Image: First Issue, which included the band’s first Top 10 single. He also played a pivotal role in the creation of their prestigious second album, Metal Box, featuring the post-punk classic Death Disco.

Since departing PiL, Jah Wobble has established himself as a successful solo artist with Invaders of the Heart, earning a Mercury Music Prize nomination for his debut album, Rising Above Bedlam. Following the release of his critically acclaimed second album, Take Me To God, Jah Wobble expanded his career by founding his own independent record label, 30 Hertz Records.

In addition to his solo career, Jah Wobble has collaborated with an impressive roster of artists, including Primal Scream, Dolores O’Riordan, Sinéad O’Connor, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Bill Laswell, Holger Czukay, and many more.
