“Very powerful, very unusual, very striking – every song is full of hooks…”
Morrissey on Janice Long BBC Radio 2 show- 20th October 2008

Having just completed a 4 month European/Russian tour with Morrissey which saw them play 3 nights at Brixton Academy, Manchester Apollo on Moz’ 50th birthday and Moscow’s B1 Maximum Club to name but a few, Doll & The Kicks now embark on a US tour with Morrissey which will take them from Seattle, down through California to Los Angeles.

Having formed in late 2005 in Brighton, Doll & The Kicks have built up a large and loyal following by the seaside and in London having recently packed out the Camden Barfly and Concorde 2. They have recently been described by Artrocker as:- “all attitude; radiating confidence, striking poses and delivering high quality, driven, eccentric pop”, and many have likened Doll's vocals and stage presence to that of Siouxsie Sioux and Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeah’s).

In 2007 they were singled out from the Brighton music scene when they were asked by BBC Southern Counties to perform at the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury 2007. Since Glastonbury, Doll and The Kicks have been busy playing live and recording tracks in the studio with producers Oscar The Punk, (who are known for their remixes for Gwen Stefani, Robyn, Moby and Roisin Murphy) and Grammy Award winning mixer and producer Simon Gogerly (Madonna, U2).

Media enthusiasm has grown with coverage from Sub TV, Channel M, BBC Radio 2, BBC Southern Counties, Kerrang Radio, Q Magazine, Independent on Sunday, The Brighton Guide, London Lite, Total Guitar, Artrocker, Ponytail Magazine and You Got Papped. They have also received airplay on BBC Radio 1 (Steve Lamacq), Radio 2 (Janice Long & Jonathan Ross) and did a live session for Janice Long back in January.

In late 2008 Doll & The Kicks were asked personally by Morrissey to support him on his upcoming world tour. By the end of 2009 they will have performed over 70 gigs with Morrissey in more than 20 countries over 3 continents and on the road have sold more than 5000 copies of their debut album. Having just been confirmed for SXSW DATK are in for another busy year.
