Pop Art Poem returns to Carling Academy with its eclectic indie mix up of merseybeat, wall of sound, summer tunes and indie indolence.

Headlining are Liverpool stalwarts Northern Lights bringing attitude and melody to the party. Expect strutting and angry emotion.

Main support is Red Night Cities – twinning Smiths-esque undulation with cacophonic swells and lows.

The Sunshine Rule sound like they should. Summer pop tunes blithely meandering and creating beach scenes and lazy picnic in the park scapes. Tunes to dream to.

The Crew open the proceedings with a mushed up blues trip that strikes into indie with the devil’s own riff.
