Rina Green – a Russian-Brazilian female-fronted four piece from London were formed in 2013. In 2015 the band released their debut album Universe 25, described by the band as “songs observing the shortcomings of humanity from an alien perspective”. The name Universe 25 was given to the album in reference to John Calhoun’s over-population experiment featuring an animal model of societal collapse that Calhoun characterized as a ‘spiritual death’ and a metaphor for the potential fate of man. The album was recorded on funds collected through a crowdfunding campaign supported by fans and mixed by the legendary Jerry Boys (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Shadows, The Rolling Stones, REM). Since the release of the album, the band have been touring and writing new tunes. After returning from the European tour last October that started at the London Kentish Town O2 Forum and finished at the Hard Rock Café, Helsinki, the band have been rehearsing new material and recording demos for their upcoming album. On Friday 20 April, Rina Green will be playing a one-off show at The Slaughtered Lamb in London before hitting the studio. The ticket price for the event includes a free CD of Universe 25.
